DCS Midnight Drive is a doubleshot ABS keycap set produced by Signature Plastics. It was the first keycap set designed by TheVanKeyboards for the MiniVan and was available as a $56 addon for members of the original TheVan44 group buy on GeekHack.org in April 2016.
In August 2016 there was an interest check started on GeekHack for a full set of Midnight Drive in either SA or DCS profile with multiple child kits planned. A group buy was never run despite receiving over 1400 votes on Massdrop.
¶ Design
DCS Midnight Drive features black alphas, dark gray modifiers and spacebars, and light green legends.
The set was produced in 1-2-3-3 profile which can cause profile incompatibility issues when pairing Midnight Drive alphas or modifiers with keys from other sets.
¶ Kits
DCS Midnight Drive was kitted specifically to fit a MiniVan. A total of 52 keys are included in the set. Beyond the 44 keys required for strict MiniVan compatibility, extra modifier keys are included with alternate legends to allow users to better match their legends to their layout. The keycap set was produced alongside Rev 1.0 of TheVan44 PCB which was created before the Arrows and Southpaw layouts existed, thus the set does not include arrow keys or enough 1u keycaps to cover either layout on newer boards.
