V4N² is an open-source, 3D printable case for V4N4G0N PCBs created by community member BA.
DO NOT plug in USB cables to both ports of a Monorail PCB. Doing so may cause irreperable damage to the PCB, USB ports, or host computer.
DXF files for switch plates and links to purchase assembly hardware are available on the Files page.
V4N² is a modular, low-profile, bottom mount case with an optional high-profile top piece. The case uses R3 V4N4G0N plates secured with M2x4mm or M2x6mm screws in the four corners. The middle of the plate is not supported in any way by the case, allowing end users to customize the amount of flex by using different plate materials.
Four files are available for the main bottom case piece: flat or with a 5 degree angle, each with either one or two USB port holes. The primary USB port is positioned on the left side to maintain compatibility with V4N4G0N PCBs. The second USB port hole is on the right side to allow usage of unmodified Monorail PCBs.
The optional high-profile top piece includes cutouts for the three indicator LEDs found on V4N4G0N PCBs. The top installs with a friction fit around the bottom case piece. Three variants of the top piece are available with different blocker configurations: a "universal" top with no blockers, an HHKB-style top with symmetrical 1.25u bottom corner blockers, and a "WKL" top with symmetrical 1u blockers indented 1u from the bottom corners. Refer to the compatibility section on the V4N² GitHub page for PCB/layout compatibility with the various case options.
