Retro60 is a universal tray mount 60% case designed by TheVanKeyboards.
¶ Design
The shape of Retro60 was inspired by the iconic Apple M0110. The case features a very high-profile bezel to match the Apple design which pairs well with SA keycaps. The bezel is so tall that the stems of installed switches and bottoms of the keycaps sit several millimeters below the top of the case. Using shorter keycaps (DSA, GMK, XDA, etc.) can result in the tops of the keycaps sitting nearly flush with the bezel. A set of 3mm brass risers were included that, when screwed into the case, raise the PCB and keycaps higher to improve the typing experience with short keycap profiles.
¶ Revisions
Only one revision of the Retro60 case was produced in multiple materials. Milled aluminum cases were finished with a dark grey anodization. Retro60 cases were also machined from exotic hardwoods including bloodwood, bocote, purpleheart, and zebrawood.
